Mentor

Aissata Hartmann-Sylla
I have a master’s degree in French & North American Literature and in African languages. During my studies, I already worked for Hamburg based promoter legend Karsten Jahnke and continued working there after I had completed my degree.
While I was still a student, I mainly worked in the ticketing department and then started booking tours with Karsten for Jazz acts such as Branford Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Randy Crawford, to name a few. In 2006, I received an offer to move to Munich and work for booking agency Triple M, where we booked acts such as Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5 and Santana. In 2009, I received an offer from AEG to work at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, still called o2 World then.
Since April 2017, I am a Board Member of the Live Entertainment Summer School in Hamburg as part of the IHM’s (Interessengemeinschaft Hamburger Musikwirtschaft e.V.) Music Business Summer School project, where we offer various panels for people in the business who want to gain further knowledge in topics such as artist contracts, taxation, settlements, etc. Since December 2020, I am also a Board Member of the new established International Live Entertainment Summer School in Hamburg as part of the IHM’s Music Business Summer School project, where we offer various panels for people in the business who want to gain further knowledge in topics such as artist contracts, taxation, settlements, etc.
